Melanie M. Dykstra, D.Ch.
Melanie is a former Delhi District Secondary School Graduate. In 1992 Melanie graduated with honors in Clinical Practice from the Chiropody Program at Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences. While practicing at St. Joseph's Hospital, Brantford, Melanie established three outreach Foot Health Clinics in Brant county in efforts to "Make your foot health a priority". Prior to St. Joseph's Hospital closing, Melanie established the Chiropody service at Norfolk General Hospital in 1996. As the demand for medical foot care increased for Haldimand and Norfolk, a new location was founded in 2007 as Simcoe Foot Care & Custom Orthotic Centre. Melanie is a proud member of the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine and Ontario Society of Chiropodists and holds a valid license at the College of Chiropodist and Podiatrists of Ontario. She brings years of experience, knowledge and a high level of clinical skill to provide her patients and community with expert treatment to maintain happy, healthy feet. Meghan Costigan-McGhie, B.A., D.Ch. Meghan is a former Simcoe Composite Secondary School graduate. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2007 with a honors B.A. in Kinesiology and earned her graduate diploma in Chiropody (distinction) from the Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences in 2011. Meghan had returned to her hometown to join Simcoe Foot Care & Custom Orthotic Centre in 2011. Meghan is a member of the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine and represents Simcoe Foot Care & Custom Orthotic Centre on the Haldimand-Norfolk Diabetic Advisory Commiitee and was also nominated and recognized with the Community Involvement Award at the 2012 Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine Conference. Meghan is committed to providing the best care possible to her patients and looks forward to assisting her community with their foot care needs. |
Debbie Awalt - Manager
Retirement Announcement We are announcing the retirement of Debbie Awalt, aka “Deb”, “Debit Deb”, or “Red”. Her last working day will be September 20, 2024. Debbie has been an integral part of Simcoe Foot Care & Custom Orthotic Centre for the last 17 years. Her contributions will always be valued and her hard work, her commitment, and her dedication are worthy of admiration. Debbie’s work family and the many patients that she has helped and befriended will miss her, and filling her shoes will be an almost impossible task, but, we wish her happiness and good health in her next endeavors. To honor and appreciate Debbie, an esteemed employee and a great person, Simcoe Foot Care is organizing a coffee social at this location on Thursday, September 12, 2024 From 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
